The inside of the snow globe can be any type of winter scene. The first example is a winter scene with a cut out picture of a student. The second example shows a little snowman with snow. Cotton balls, foam pieces, and photos can be used to give the globe a 3 dimensional look. The base of the snow globe can be used to write a story of the scene, write a poem, or a creative phrase.
Directions:
On a sheet of construction paper trace the dessert plate. Inside the traced circle, create a winter scene. Once the winter scene is complete, glue or staple the clear dessert plate on top of the scene. Trace a trapezoid shape and glue it to the bottom of the snow globe. Add your story, poem or creative phrase to the base.

Place a handprint of white paint on the left side of a blue or black sheet of construction paper. After the white paint dries, have the students decorate each finger as a snowman. For best results use fine point paint pins to create the snowmen.

On this acrostic poem students write words or phrases that describe the snowman.
Directions:
- Attach two sheets of black construction paper together.
- Attach two sheets of white copy paper on top of the black construction paper.
- Cut a 2 inch black band and attach.
- Cut out an 8 inch circle from white paper (or use a paper plate) and attach to the bottom of the band.
- Write the word SNOWMAN, in capital letters down the left side of the hat.
- Allow time for students to decorate the face of the snowman.
